Becoming recession-proof in these tough economic times means taking the initiative and making a move now which will withstand anything a stuttering economy can throw at you in the future.

Network marketing may not be the first choice of many to build financial wealth but consider the changes taking place within the industry right now. For example, community based network marketing is emerging as a trend which is giving failed network marketers of the past renewed faith and hope that there is a system which can actually work and help them make vital breakthroughs in building their business.

In 2007, Ann Sieg rocked the network marketing world when she released two landmark books, The 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing followed by The Renegade Network Marketer. What this system did was introduce internet network marketing to the world. The truth is, it actually just re-enforced the concept that using the internet would help fast track a person’s business growth.

Occupy The City

Occupy The City is a community based network marketing opportunity which encompasses the principles of the Renegade system. Members are being taught how to market online, skills which they didn’t have. In fact, many had not even touched a computer keyboard in the past.

Occupy The City founder Jason Acopolis is proud of the emergence and impact OTC is having and it’s role in redefining the face of MLM business building in the future.

“Our professional community is open to anyone that has the drive to succeed. Because Occupy the City is a Professional Community, there are no-strings-attached. The information is free and there is no pressure anywhere in the process. We know we have a lucrative business model based on core values with integrity, but we also know it’s not for everyone.”

Acopolis says…”Our system works like a diamond sifter to allow the most qualified, driven, and professional applicants to rise naturally to the top with out the need for high pressure sales. Our in house marketing Dept. is connected to the best of the best when it comes to marketing online and all of their knowledge and tools are put to use to drive your business.”

He says…”If you are someone with the ability and drive to succeed in the environment we create then you will see that for yourself, and if we see it in you as well then you are already on your way.”

“From day one as an accepted applicant you have access to the knowledge of the entire community along with all the training, tools, marketing, and mentoring you need through our support forums & training pages. Our community of professionals is at the beckon call of every new member. On top of all that you never have to interview or close your own prospects since we have some of the best people in the business on board to do that for you!”

So if you are struggling in your network marketing business then consider what Occupy The City can offer you in turning your fortunes around.

There is some new studies out there that shows even more danger for women who are in the post menopausal state. I have seen tons of testimonial from people that are excited about the effects of Kyani on their arthritis so I thought I would share this with you………

Kyani
Postmenopausal women with breast cancer who are receiving endocrine treatment may be at increased risk of joint issues, including arthritis, a new study finds.

British researchers publishing in the September issue of The Lancet Oncology, found that previous use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), hormone-receptor positivity, previous chemotherapy, obesity and treatment with anastrozole—an aromatase inhibitor—all increased the chances of these women developing joint problems.

Kyani Sunrise
These increased risks appear to be tied to the significant drop in estrogen levels the patients experience during endocrine treatment. Estrogen deficiency previously has been associated with joint issues in other studies.

The researchers made their discoveries during a trial comparing the use of either an aromatase inhibitor (anastrozole) or tamoxifen in some 9,000 postmenopausal women with breast cancer. In the study, joint symptoms were reported in:

* 41 percent of women who had previously used HRT versus 29 percent of those who had not.
* Women who received previous chemotherapy also reported significantly more joint symptoms than those who had not (39 percent versus 31 percent).
* The more obese the women was, based on the body-mass index, the more likely she had joint issues.

Arthritis symptoms
“Awareness of risk factors for joint symptoms will help both clinicians and patients to anticipate and manage these symptoms and ensure optimum adherence to endocrine treatment,” researcher Dr. Ivana Sestak of Cancer Research UK, said in a news release issued by her organization.

Do you want to know why Kyani works so well? Check out WebMD’s list of superfoods that everyone should have:

  • Oranges
  • Tomatoes
  • Oats
  • Spinach
  • Soy
  • Turkey
  • Salmon
  • Blueberries
  • Yogurt

I sure wonder if Kyani could help????

Kyani is so exciting! I have a dgree in education and I LOVED teaching, but always felt held back by whatever the government or school district wanted us to do…. and of course whatever they felt we “deserved” to make. We all know that teacher salaries are nothing to brag about.

Upon joining Kyani I can honestly say that I have never been so excited about a job in my life! I wake up and am ready to go every morning and feel the freedom of directing my business wherever I want to take it! There are no limits!

I do miss teaching those crazy little middle schoolers, but now I can stay at home with my own beautiful daughter! How cool is that?

Kyani…. peace of mind…. and freedom to do it your way!

One success tip in MLM not spoken about too much is the benefit of keeping a network marketing business journal. Sounds a simple concept doesn’t it but if you’re not using one right now then you could be leaving some profitable ideas on the table.

In an environment where internet network marketing is beginning to over take the old school methods of MLM, a journal can be one of your secret weapons. For example, marketing online is a little more complex than offline simply because of the options now available.

You’ve only got to look at the problem of lack of focus for those working online. Ideas are a dime a dozen and when one pops up you like the natural inclination is to make a mental note of it and remember it later. But the truth is, you hardly ever do and the frustration sets in when you have a window of opportunity to implement something new and you’re trying to recall the great idea you had earlier.

A journal doesn’t need to be a large diary type book. In fact, a small pocket size notebook you can carry around is preferred.

How To Avoid Being Overwhelmed By Keeping An MLM business journal

You will be surprised at how many ideas you come up with. By keeping an MLM business journal, at least you’ll know where those thoughts and ideas are written. But will you action every one of them and what about the overwhelm factor?

This is a good point and we’re going to give you a process to help you focus on each individual idea you have and overcome the overwhelm factor.

1. At the beginning of each week, check your journal and look at list for a project.

2. Choose one project only.

3. Your task for the week is to concentrate wholly and solely on this one project until it’s up and running.

Many times, it may only take you a day or two to put one of the ideas in your multil-level marketing business journal into practice but the aim is teaching you to focus because trying to take on too many tasks at the one time is asking for trouble.

Another point to remember is you ideas list should also have the potential of adding to your bottom line. This makes sense but you won’t believe how many people put trivial things down on a list that really shouldn’t be there.

So remember this, “if the idea ain’t going to make you money” just scrap it or put it onto a reserve list for further analysis.

Do you understand the anomaly which exists in network marketing or any at home business for that matter where self sabotage comes into play? Do you know what self sabotage is?

It happens every day and it’s a little like whales beaching themselves for no apparent reason. We want to bring this up because it’s something this author went through a few short years ago and when it was happening, I wasn’t even aware of it.

Being on track as an entrepreneur means showing steely resolve and if you are in an inter-network marketing business then steely resolve is your best friend. You’ll hit road blocks and some of them will be personal but while you deal with them, you still need to keep your eye on the long term goal you set yourself.

This has plenty to do with getting into the discomfort zone, an area many avoid. If you find your discomfort zone in network marketing then be rest assured, you’re on the right track. Because feeling uncomfortable means you’re learning something new and moving forward most times.

This was a message which eventually sunk through after my previous sabotaging effort… “You’ll never get past the entrepreneurial breakwaters until you conquer that fear inside you and step outside your comfort zone.”

The Discomfort zone

You see, up until then, I’d tried and failed in several network marketing businesses, one I had established a $900 a week income before self-destructing.

What happened?

I got into uncharted territory that is, I was on track to financial freedom but the strange thing was I was afraid. People wanted more of my time and it made me nervous. I went back into my shell and started passing off stuff I should have been doing to my downline.

Eventually, my lack of effort started to resonate down the line and while I had some dedicated people, when I wasn’t being seen in putting in the effort then they saw this as the green light to do the same.

That $900 a week income soon fell to $800 then $700 then $600 until it almost disappeared. It hurt but still I didn’t do anything about it and was comfortable going back to a job where the income was guaranteed every week and people didn’t demand much of my time.

Can you see where I’m going with this?

The message here is that unless you feel uncomfortable in your network marketing business during the growing phase then you’re not on track. In other words, as an entrepreneur, the more on course you are then the more frightened you’ll feel.

You created a pretty web site displaying the crafts that are your pride and joy, now what? There are many tricks you can use to promote your new and show the world your crafts.

- Build a mailing list for your Home Crafts Business! It’s one of the best ways to get new AND return customers when you deal online. Give the option on your site, when they make a purchase, on your flyers at craft fairs… the possibilities are endless. Once you have a customer list, you can send reminders, rebates, exclusive products and more. Just don’t overdo it or people will come to see your mailings as spam.

- Use search engine optimization techniques to improve your search engine rankings for your crafting business. A higher ranking means a better exposure, so you’ll get more traffic and sales. A full explanation on this is beyond the scope of this article, but there are many good articles on this if you search on Google.

- Crafts malls like Etsy are a good way to promote your own website. You get exposure, credibility, and a sale or two if you’re lucky! Don’t forget to put your website address anywhere it’s allowed, and to build your mailing list when you make a sale.

- Likewise, you can try selling a few pieces on eBay, and collect the email addresses of your buyers. You will only be allowed to put your website address on your About Me page, but with the traffic you can get on eBay it will most likely be worth it.

- If you have deep pockets, you can always buy Google Adwords keywords. What are they? They are the ads that will show up on Google search when you type specific keywords. You have to be pretty careful with this one to attract the right kind of traffic (the one that will buy), but it can pay off in the end.

- crafting business exchanges and top lists are slower, but can help. You get links to your site, which can help your Google rankings, exposure, and the occasional sale. Every little bit helps!

- Forums are another more subtle way to gain links and exposure, but can be a great way to improve your credibility as an expert. Just put your website link in your signature and post ahead, but don’t forget to check if this is allowed by the forums moderators.

- And finally, track your results. There is no point in posting ads everywhere if you don’t know which one is working. You can then concentrate on the very best.

When attraction marketing was first uttered as a term in the network marketing arena many simply didn’t understand what it meant. But with network marketers moving online in droves today, attraction marketing is becoming a whole lot clearer.

The Renegade system had a lot to do with fashioning the term. The thought of prospects coming to a distributor rather than distributors chasing prospects down was a concept which seemed a little far-fetched. But it’s real and unless you start applying attraction marketing principles in your business then you’ll continue to struggle for the lifeblood of your business…responsive prospects.

Basically, attraction marketing means by placing your message in front of the right crowd - a targeted crowd, then prospects are more likely to respond because they are ready and looking for your message. Make sense?

Old School Methods

In a nutshell, this is how it used to work:

- contacting friends and family and telling them you had something they needed to see or

- using the dreaded 3 foot rule, that is, anyone who was within arms length was fair game to hear about your offer or

- contacting people you meet on a regular basis such as the local shop owner and telling them they needed to look at this because if they didn’t, they would be making a big mistake.

It’s hit and miss prospecting and from a business point of view, unprofessional. The sad fact is that the majority of network marketers still use these methods everyday and wonder why their business doesn’t grow.

The Internet Age

The internet is a powerful playing ground for attracting prospects and has enormous advantages over offline methods.

For example, you can immediately brand yourself online with your own website and blog which is not a clone of what everyone else is using.

Your prospecting area suddenly expands - you now have the ability to reach out to targeted prospects all over the world.

And best of all, you can set your marketing up in such a way that prospects actually seek you out to get more information. That is, you target people who are really wanting to hear from you. And better still, the leads you generate are fresh unlike those you purchase from lead providers.

That’s the core principle of attraction marketing. Once you understand this principle and apply it, you’re network marketing business will begin to grow.

1. Make a business based around a subject you are already passionate about. It is so much easier to put in the long hours when it is a subject you are very keen on. There is also an easier learning curve.

2. Start on a part time basis while you are still employed. Depending on your business it could be some time before you are making enough money to live off of comfortably. Remember you will need a reserve for emergencies as well as enough profit to cover the daily expenses.

3. Avoid over dependency. Do not become overly dependent on any one customer, or supplier, or form of advertising, or even bank - get the picture? You do not want to find your business in financial trouble because of a change in any one factor.

4. Have a business plan. Know what your goals are and the steps needed to reach them. Know what you need in terms of supplies, time and help. At some point you will need help!.

5. Share your problems with others. Having a mentor, or even just a friend with business smarts, to bounce problems off is invaluable. Kicking those problems around often leads to fresh ideas you might not have otherwise thought of.

6. Don’t forget to love your family. They are putting up with your endeavour and possibly suffering too. Spend enough time with them to let them know they are still the most important thing to you and their support will continue.

7. Be female! I’m a male myself but lately it seems I am constantly seeing lady entrepreneurs featured in the success stories! eBay businesses especially seem to have a large number of female success stories and there are any number of work at home moms showing huge success.

So what does it take to achieve network marketing success? It’s probably the most asked question in MLM and there have been a multitude of answers.

After strong consideration, the answer is mindset. It’s actually having the right mindset but unless you are prepared mentally then you really will be pushing whatever uphill. Without the right success mindset you’ll be a sitting target for those things which come along and throw you off course. And believe me, they will come along.

It’s not really about listening constantly to positive mental attitude material. While this can help the key is developing a long term mindset and setting short term goals along the way. Without short term milestones that long term goal will remain just that.

It’s all about reeling it in step-by-step. In internet network marketing a steely resolve is required and this can be achieved by getting your mind focused on what’s important in building your business. One trick is to picture yourself in several years time facing your family and explaining to them that this is all you have to offer them.

Can you see how powerful something like this can be and it’s a technique which has helped many high achievers in network marketing do that 5% extra to make sure they build long lasting wealth just to maintain the respect of those people closest to them.

Focus Is Key

So this brings me to my main point here. How and where you focus your marketing efforts in M-L-M will ultimately determine your overall results.

In other words, if your thinking is short term then your marketing will reflect that. You’ll be constantly battling to come up with winning strategies to keep your business afloat.

But if you have a long term mindset then again, your marketing will reflect that. You’ve got to really define in the beginning what it is you want from your business. That is, you should have your end clearly defined.

By knowing what your end goal is your marketing will also be targeted to long term success and won’t be of a short term fix nature. You want your marketing to be producing results 12-24 months from now, not in what I term the “bee effect” - once it’s lost it’s sting it dies.

So achieving home based business success starts with your mindset and if it’s on other things, then save yourself the frustration and wait until it’s focused on your business.

Generating leads is an essential part of building an at home business. Without leads, your business will cough and splutter and really go nowhere.

One of the big mistakes at home business owners such as network marketers make is driving their leads away after attracting them into their funnel. Sounds crazy doesn’t it and it’s called the desperate marketer syndrome.

People willing to do everything but give their prospect what they really want during the initial contact and that’s what’s in it for them and how do I get there. It’s called giving value before asking for the sale and the truth is, if it’s executed correctly then in many cases, the sales pitch won’t even be required.

An home based business is hard enough to establish and grow without sabotaging it with desperate marketing tactics which leave a sour taste in the mouth of a prospect and you a lead lighter. So what is a desperate marketer and how do they behave. Does this sound familiar?

The Desperate Network Marketer

Here’s an example of a desperate marketer. He gets a lead and is due to speak with them on the phone. Now this first step is going to tell a prospect a lot about the person they’re thinking of joining in business. And this is where most network marketers fluff it. Many suddenly get gripped by the desperate marketer syndrome.

They get into a lather about “what if this person doesn’t join my business” or “are they a potential Diamond Director and what if I lose them.”

And the phone conversation will go something like this…”Hi Joan, my name’s Ron and it’s good to meet you.” After the initial pleasantries the desperate marketer takes over. The conversation deterioates to something like this.

“I’m with company xyz and we are the best company in network marketing. Our products are life changing and will cure anything and boy, our compensation plan is the best. You’ll make a fortune with company xyz and you can’t fail because we do all the work for you. And if you don’t join our company you’ll be sorry because now is the time to get in blah, blah, blah…”

The Dreaded Early Sales Pitch

What’s wrong with this picture. Right, there has been nothing asked about what the prospect wants, their needs, their pain and how they can reach their goals. The desperate marketer has launched into a sales pitch from the get go and it’s been all about him.

The truth is, the company should never be mentioned unless the prospect specifically asks what it is. Never mention the products and never threaten the prospect with “if you don’t join…”

Make this initial conversation and one’s to follow all about the prospect. Give them information, training materials, educational resources. Show them you are genuinely interested in helping them achieve their goals. Show them you are someone who knows what you’re talking about and more importantly, earn their trust first and watch your at home based business grow.

The emergence of Occupy The City is starting to gather momentum as many past networkers begin to realize the benefits of building their business as part of a team effort rather than as individuals.

Don’t get me wrong, going it alone is still okay but the problem for many is they lack the skills needed to build a network marketing business. Skills such as sales, recruiting, prospecting and training are taken for granted by successful MLMers but the reality is, the majority just don’t know how to put these skills into practice. And more to the point, they don’t want to.

Occupy The City

At Occupy The City, community based network marketing is taking off and not only are people being given the chance to build a business, but they are also learning some vital skill in working online.

Internet network marketing is an area where those savvy enough to recognize it’s potential in attracting leads are reaping the benefits in a big way. Occupy The City founder Jason Acopolis is excited about the future of community based network marketing as he explains.

“Occupy the City is a professional networking community that is focused on a single goal. Success for everyone involved! Now we are not talking marginal success either, our plan will create a 500k annual residual income in 9 months for anyone willing to plug into our easy system and push themselves to achieve the simple monthly business goals that we set forth.”

He says…”Our community is made up of some of the most successful networkers in the industry. Every one of them will be available to you to help move you towards success in what really & truly is a very simple home business to operate.”

Each one of our members has a specific role to fill in the community. This makes life easier for all of us because it means we do not have to wear all the different hats usually associated with owning your own “really easy” (yeah right!) home based business.

Things like Orientation, Training, Motivating, Recruiting, and Interviewing can quickly become too much for a successful or beginning home business owner & entrepreneur to keep up with. This usually leads to burn out. We bypass this problem all together by putting people in positions to build on their strengths only. There are enough of us here, (real people with various skill sets) to make sure this remains a reality for us. Is it a reality for you? It could be, but you have to be willing to take action.”

And more importantly, he stressed…”We only work with self-motivated entrepreneurs at Occupy The City and so will you. That is part of what keeps this at home business really easy to run and enjoy.”
