Widespread use of advanced spy gear use to be a reality only in the movies. Not anymore. Many people feel there’s an increasing need to provide security with advanced spy gear for people as criminality rises in many parts of the world. They still don’t want the government to be able to watch their every move though. So there’s sort of a conflict between the two wants and needs. People want their cake and eat it too. We have to come to grip with what is true tough: No matter how many security products are put into place. No matter how cautious you are about your safety, you can die tomorrow crossing the street. And also, realize most criminal organizations are not caught with these invasive measures and systems. Rather they are caught because of people talking and informants. Don’t take your government’s requests and supposed needs for more big brother power and spy equipment at face value. Listen to what independent groups have to say on these same matters. And what most are saying is they usually have all the tools and methods in place to tackle all the challenges they face. So as you hear authorities ask for more powers, ask some tough questions and expect them to provide real good answers with facts backing their assessments.
